Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy can be stated simply. I believe that in order for quality education to take place, we need teachers dedicated to the idea that all students can learn. Educators help shape tomorrow’s leaders. In order to have a positive impact on our students we need caring teachers, concerned parents, well-planned curriculum, supportive administration, and high expectations.

I believe that it is the job of all educators to find the area in which students excel, and to encourage the students to explore those areas. However, I also believe that students need to be challenged in order to learn. Through the process of considering a problem, and eventually arriving at a solution to the problem my students will learn mathematics. By doing my best to teach in accordance with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards and with the district curriculum I can begin preparing tomorrow’s leaders today.
